Rabbit teeth never stop growing: what every owner should know
Overgrown teeth are the #1 reason rabbits visit the vet. Here's how to prevent it.

Unlike dogs and cats, rabbits' teeth grow continuously — up to 12 cm per year. Without constant wear from chewing, they overgrow and cause serious problems.
The fix is simple: unlimited timothy or meadow hay. Hay forces side-to-side chewing that grinds molars naturally. Pellets and vegetables alone aren't enough.
Watch for these warning signs: dropping food, drooling, weight loss, or a wet chin. These often mean dental issues that need vet attention.
Avoid sugary treats marketed for rabbits — yogurt drops, seed sticks, and dried fruit. They cause tooth decay and gut imbalance.
